Are you Focused on your Deepest Hearts Desire?

You are the creator of your Universe. Yes, you! So knowing what you desire in life is very important. Because when you know what you desire - you can give that desire your undivided attention. And...what you focus on grows. For example, when you water and tend to your garden it thrives beautifully. Similarly, when you nurture your desires, they become alive - they become your reality.

Ask yourself the question, 'What do I desire in life?' Is it Self Love, Inner Peace, to reduce stress and live life fully? Whatever it is, there is no time like the present. So, what can you do today to make this desire more of your reality?

Check out Kevin's new video about Focusing on Your Deepest Hearts Desire:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axgMZRXWlkA

What is Your Deepest Hearts Desire?

One thing that we come back to on a daily basis is our deepest heart's desire. We have found this to be key - to know what we desire and why we are doing what we are doing. Because sometimes, you can have those days when life makes no sense at all, and you ask yourself "What is important to me?" "Why am I doing what I am doing?" But if you know in your heart without a doubt what you desire, and you feel it 100%, you can easily get 'back on track'. You have direction.

Watch Kevin's video talking about your Deepest Hearts Desire...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXIMaUsI98Q

The most effective tool that we have had to help us experience our deepest hearts desire has been meditation. Meditation allows you to clear old stress from the nervous system, connect with your inner strength and feel anchored no matter what is happening in life. And more importantly, the benefits of meditation are cumulative as opposed to them fading away.

What would it be like to spend an entire weekend giving to yourself? Find out!
Weekend Meditation Course…and more! in London, Ontario July 16-18
Times: (Fri. 7-10pm, Sat. & Sun. 10-5pm)

During this weekend you will learn a powerful meditation technique called Ascension. It is the ultimate tool for stress reduction. It is very simple and effortless. You don't have to stop all of your thoughts. You don't have to sit in any special posture. We'll give you all of the instruction you need to develop a daily practice of meditation that can transform your life. We'll have lectures on different subjects throughout the whole weekend that will bring new inspiration and let go of limiting thoughts and beliefs.

You will also connect with other like-minded people and have fun together as you explore the peace and joy within.

The Simple Things in LIfe

On Saturday Kevin and I, and our four-legged friend Romeo, decided to get away from the city and venture out for the day. We were ready for a day of just chilling out. And what an amazing day we had - from start to finish!

The drive in the country was spectacular. The sun was shining. The beautiful, open sky was endless and expansive - no boundaries; no beginning and no end - just like the Peace and Silence within.

Our first destination was Sunnivue Organic Farm in Ailsa Craig. What a wonderful atmosphere - we bought beautiful fresh produce, some happy sunflowers for the garden, and enjoyed interesting conversations while we savoured the taste of freshly baked bread and a cup of tea. Then off we went...cruising down a country road. To find out more visit the Sunnivue Farm website.

Our next stop was the Pinery Provincial Park. We had our first visit of the year to the beach. A dog-friendly beach, of course, where Romeo encountered many other friends. The three of us took a stroll on the beach. It was better than a day at the spa; the soft sand massaged my toes; the fresh air enlivened my skin and the sun's energy brought my cells alive. Water is my favourite element. It was so soothing to hear the waves rolling in and out - it felt like they were saying 'hello, you're back!' My toes were delighted to take their first dip in the lake. Romeo, however, wasn't so sure. He approached the 'big' waves, all of six inches, with caution and curiosity. It was hilarious to watch, especially because Romeo likes to uphold his image of being such a macho guy. At one point, I looked over at Kevin and said, 'We are so incredibly blessed.' He agreed. In that moment, I longed for nothing. I was full of peace and gratitude.

After a full day, we headed back to 'home sweet home' and filled our bellies with delicious food. As I went to bed, I felt so content. What a perfect day. It was simple, relaxing and fun!

It's the simple things in life that can fill our hearts up with joy, laughter and love. And taking time to do the things that nurture us is so important. So remember the K.I.S.S. principle.... Keep It Simple Silly!

Diane

Benefits of Meditation

I have personally experienced a lot of the positive benefits from meditation. More then you could really imagine. I thought it would be great to post some of the benefits that are being recognized by the medical community. Here are some quotes from a recent article on Meditation.

Current Scientific Information on the Benefits of Meditation

Science has proven that meditating actually restructures your brain and can train it to concentrate, feel greater compassion, cope with stress and more. Here is some of the latest research:

The current findings suggest that meditation - even in small doses - can profoundly influence your experience of the world by remodelling the physical structure of your brain.

A study published in the journal "NeuroImage" in 2009 compared the brains of 22 meditators with 22 age-matched non-meditators and found that the meditators had more gray matter in regions of their brains that are important for attention, emotional regulation and mental flexibility. Increased grey matter typically makes an area of the brain more efficient or powerful at processing information.

New research shows that meditation can help you improve your ability to concentrate in two ways. First, it can make you better at focusing on something specific while ignoring distractions. Second, it can make you more capable of noticing what is happening around you, giving you a fuller perspective on the present moment.

Research also shows that meditation can help people with anxiety disorders.

We typically think of our emotional range as something that is fixed or unchanging - a reflection of the personality that we are born with. But research is revealing the possibility that we may cultivate and increase our ability to feel the emotional state of compassion.

How much is enough?

As the evidence for the benefits of meditation grows, one of the most important questions is, How much is enough? Or from the perspective of beginning meditators, How little is enough to see positive changes?

Researchers agree that many of the benefits happen early on. And many studies show change in a matter of weeks, or even minutes, among inexperienced meditators. But, other studies suggest that experience matters. So while a minimal investment in meditation can pay off for your well-being and mental clarity, committing to the practice is the best way to experience the full benefits.

How do you learn?

Meditation is best taught by an experienced teacher. Although its very simple, it can be of extreme benefit to have sufficient guidance to ensure that simplicity occurs in your experience.

If you are interested in learning more about meditation simply contact us and we'd be happy to help you out.

Note: Information for this article is courtesy of "Yoga Journal: June 2010 edition".

Ayurveda - An Introduction

I've personally had a lot of experience with Ayurveda to bring more balance back to my health and well-being. I've done a lot of reading as well as worked with a couple different Ayurvedic practitioners. If you've never heard about Ayurveda before I highly recommend checking it out. Here is some information on it:

Ayurveda is India's traditional, natural system of medicine that has been practiced for more than 5,000 years. Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that literally translated means "science of life" or "practices of longevity." Ayurveda was the system of health care conceived and developed by the seers (rishis) and natural scientists through centuries of observations, experiments, discussions, and meditations. For several thousand years their teachings were passed on orally from teacher to student; about the fifth to sixth century BC, elaborately detailed texts were written in Sanskrit, the ancient language of India. For many years Ayurveda flourished and was used by rich and poor alike in India and Southeast Asia.

Ayurveda emphasizes prevention of disease, rejuvenation of our body systems, and extension of life span. The profound premise and promise of Ayurveda is that through certain practices, not only can we prevent heart disease and make our headaches go away, but we can also better understand ourselves and the world around us, live a long healthy life in balance and harmony, achieve our fullest potential, and express our true inner nature on a daily basis.

Ayurveda provides an integrated approach to preventing and treating illness through lifestyle interventions and natural therapies. It is based on the view that the elements, forces, and principles that comprise all of nature - and that holds it together and make it function - are also seen in human beings. In Ayurveda, the mind (or consciousness) and the body (or physical mass) not only influence each other - they are each other. Together they form the mind-body. The universal consciousness is an intelligent, aware ocean of energy that gives rise to the physical world we perceive through our five senses. Ayurvedic philosophy and practices link us to every aspect of ourselves and remind us that we are in union with every aspect of nature, each other, and the entire universe.

There can be no mental health without physical health, and vice versa. In Ayurveda, symptoms and diseases that could be categorized as mental thoughts or feelings are just as important as symptoms and diseases of the physical body. Both are due to imbalances within a person, and both are treated by restoring the natural balance mentally and physically. In Ayurveda your whole life and lifestyle must be in harmony before you can enjoy true well being. Lifestyle interventions are a major Ayurvedic preventive and therapeutic approach.

Peace is Within

Nothing on the outside can affect your peace. This is a statement that had a profound affect on my life and it could have that same affect with you. It is something that you need to experience for yourself though. I know that I did.

Personally, I read a very simple book that shared this sentiment with me. It stated that no matter what someone said to me, no matter what someone did, no matter what happened on the outside – it did not have to affect my peace. This was a big statement for me to hear since at the time I was experiencing the opposite. I thought that everything was happening to me. I felt that I had no control over my own experience. And worst of all, I had lost the hope that there was more in life.

I read the entire book in one night. As I read this book, something clicked in me. Some major perspective shifted and for the next two months I experienced this principle fully. All of the situations at work that used to stress me out disappeared. In each moment I was simply aware that they could not affect my peace. I was able to deal with any of the “problems” that occurred by simply doing whatever felt right to do or was necessary at the time. There were meetings that I was a part of in which people were upset and sometimes even yelling. I remember simply observing this behaviour and observing any reaction within myself. Some part of me knew that everything was okay and none of it disturbed my peace. I was blissed out!

This was a beautiful experience that I had, especially since it followed over 10 years of depression. Interestingly enough, this perspective did not last and I lost the experience. I re-read the book over and over but I couldn’t quite experience it again. And that was the beginning of my spiritual journey. At that point, I knew that it was possible to experience eternal peace. If it happened to me, I knew that it was possible for anyone, including you! Reading books never brought me back to this experience although they did help. What most of the spiritual books did teach me is that meditation is a tool to experience peace within.

The beautiful thing with meditation is that it is not about reading about other people’s experiences. It is not about trying to figure something out. It is simply about experiencing life fully right now, experiencing the peace and silence within. All of the peace, joy and happiness that you’ve ever been searching for are already within you. None of it is found on the outside. Meditation can be a simple, effortless way to experience the saying “nothing on the outside can affect my peace.”

Love,

Agni

Alkalize your body for health & vitality-Is your water alkaline?

Did you know 60%-70% of our body is water? In order to maintain a stable well-being, pure clean water must be found in our system. The recommended daily requirement is 2 or more liters of water per day. So, imagine how your body will respond after a few days of drinking unhealthy, unclean and unsafe water.

Water is life without it we can not survive. Hence, we need it...we drink it. But then again, we wonder, has there been life left in the water we drink? Our water is recycled continually and many chemicals and toxins are used into these processes that are very harmful to our body.

Drinking water is not just about the intake of the basic chemical compound H2O. Water naturally carries trace minerals and other compounds that may put more value into it, or may just do the opposite.

Clean and healthy water is determined by the trace or dietary minerals present in it. We need these minerals to regulate bodily functions and to boost the immune system that fights diseases. There are only two groups of soluble minerals found in water: (1) the acids and (2) bases or alkalis.

The amount of acid or base in any living organism is determined by its pH value. A pH scale goes from 0-14, 0 being extremely acidic and 14 being extremely alkaline. Having the right pH balance of every cell in our body is equivalent to a healthier you. Now, the ideal pH level for our bodies is around 7.365. Thus, the ideal drinking water must have a non-acidic pH, which means the water is alkalized.

How does water become alkalized? Similar to a well-balanced diet that contains more neutral or alkaline pH value rather than acidic, water must be free from any acidity caused by contamination or simply by the nature of its source. Acid water is inhabitable for bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms. It is important and healthier to alkalize the water we drink to achieve the neutralization of the water's acidic content.

There are many products available that will alkalize your water. Here is one…

The HL4Y Portable Alkaline Nano Energy Cup is the way to quickly neutralize the acid in the water you drink. Due to the minerals at the bottom of the cup, the Nano energy activation heightens the alkalescency and ionizes the water you pour into it.

The HL4Y Portable Alkaline Nano Energy Cup is made from a semi-precious gem called "tourmaline" and a mineral called "maifanite" found in Maifanshi, a formerly known region of Ancient China. Black tourmaline is known to give energy and maifanite is known as a "health stone" in Japan. These stones and its minerals are composed of magnesium, sodium, iron, potassium and calcium which can alkalize the water to a pH of 8.0-9.0. (Depending on quality of water, this will vary)

Tourmaline is a crystal containing electrical charges. The negative ions produced during the chemical reaction of these minerals with acidic H2O, helps in increasing the electrolytes needed by the major organs in our body to maintain normal levels of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and other dietary minerals. So, what is a better way to good health than alkalizing your drinking water instantly with the HL4Y Alkaline Energy Nano Cup!

Article by Craig Jacobs.

They are our teachers, healers and companions. If we observe their behaviors and habits we can learn so much about living in the moment. The beauty is, they don't try to be present. They don't take meditation classes or do yoga or read lots of books on ‘being in the now'. They just are.

Peace

The nature of existence is Peace. There are very few people that constantly experience peace. Most people are too identified with their thoughts.

It is possible to learn to watch and observe your thoughts to discover the underlying peace. There are a number of ways to do this but I've found Ascension to be one of the most simple, effortless, and fast routes.

As we have grown up; our identification with thinking became stronger, and thus our thoughts have sped up. In this same manner, it is possible to start to witness and become more aware. As we do this, we generally find that our thoughts can slow down or not disturb the underlying peace. At first this may seem impossible, but with an effective technique it can be an effortless process.

Peace is available to everyone. Would you like to experience more peace?

"Life is meant to be lived in Eternal Joy, Infinite Freedom, Unconditional Love and Unbounded Awareness. Any other life is utterly missing the point of being born as a human." ~ MSI

Krishna Das Concert....

Hi everyone, We just wanted to share a beautiful concert that we were just at. It was with Krishna Das at the Yoga Conference in Toronto last weekend.

There were over 800 people all chanting to the Divine. Wow. What I loved about Krishna Das is how real he is. He is sharing his gift and spreading love so selflessly. There are many ways to connect with Who We Really Are and devotional chanting is very powerful.

If you are interested in experiencing a kirtan, Brenda McMorrow and Ameya will be performing in London on Sat., April 25 at the Lotus Centre. Brenda has a voice of an angel and a heart to match. It is a show not to be missed. Here is a pic from the Krishna Das show

Beautiful!
What do you want in life?

A number of years ago something shifted in my life. It was a shift towards self development and personal growth. Before this time I had no interest in such things. My journey mainly started with reading books regarding this subject. I enjoyed these books and got a lot out of them. And then something shifted again in which I desired to experience what everyone in these books was talking about. To experience the infinite sea of silence and peace within.

And so started my journey into meditation. Which quickly led me to what I've discovered to be the most powerful and effortless meditation: the Ishayas' Ascension. And so I learned and started to experience the silence on a deeper and deeper level. To this day; constantly experiencing the silence within is the most important thing in my life. What about you? Are you interested in personal growth and self development? What do you want to experience in life? Are you ready to experience more in life?

Peace and Joy,
