Blog » What do you want in life?
A number of years ago something shifted in my life. It was a shift towards self development and personal growth. Before this time I had no interest in such things. My journey mainly started with reading books regarding this subject. I enjoyed these books and got a lot out of them. And then something shifted again in which I desired to experience what everyone in these books was talking about. To experience the infinite sea of silence and peace within.
And so started my journey into meditation. Which quickly led me to what I've discovered to be the most powerful and effortless meditation: the Ishayas' Ascension. And so I learned and started to experience the silence on a deeper and deeper level. To this day; constantly experiencing the silence within is the most important thing in my life. What about you? Are you interested in personal growth and self development? What do you want to experience in life? Are you ready to experience more in life?
Peace and Joy,
Agni

Great post! Meditation enables us to know ourselves better and gives us clarity on what we desire in life.

I am a quiet person. This is not the same as shy. Things spell themselves out if you wait. This means low marks on the first few tests during elementary school and sudden excellence in later tests. Neither marks being accurate portraits of whats going on.
My point is that we get labeled as stand - offish, perfectionist, slow or sensitive and then as we get treated as if we were one of those impressions people may have of us we begin to experience life that way. We lose ourselves in how they paint us.
So, I am never sure what is meant exactly by the phrase the silence within. Is it the silence after stripping away of all the judging voices impressions labeling and societal guiding of who we were? Is it the quiet after finally loosing the habit where we had learned to do much the same things to ourselves?
I think that there is a quality to the silence. The silence when the internal dialogue is gone is different than the silence of knowing. As an example picking up a phone to a silent totally dead line is a whole different experience to picking up a phone line and hearing the silence of someone listening.
Silent but connected. When I look back on my life so far I see that all of my odd steps, interests, relationships etc. were all attached to that thread of the silence that is connected and knowing.
We know as children about these things.
